I just cut and pasted these words of wisdom from an aol article. It's regarding how Americans in Saudi Arabia should react to the hostage beheading yesterday. If my loved one was there working for some damned oil company, I'd want him to leave about now. AAArggh. What I hear Powell saying is that our lives are void of importance. Powell thinks we are a bunch of idiots. How truly revolting. - G.

"Secretary of State Colin Powell said he does not want American workers to flee Saudi Arabia because that would reward the people whose violence in recent weeks has killed Johnson, two other Americans and more than two dozen other foreigners.

Speaking a day after the State Department strongly urged Americans to avoid going to Saudi Arabia and those there to leave, Powell said Friday in a radio interview: ''If they leave, then the terrorists have won, and I don't think either the Saudis, the Americans, or these brave folks who work in Saudi Arabia want the terrorists to win.''

Anyways, this would be funny if it weren't so fucking dangerous. The "letting the terrorists win" argument is way overused. But its fun to play with. For example, "If that shit is what passes for funny, then the terorists have already won."

Wow, I'm rambling on. Ok, Colin, get your head out of your ass(pun intended) and stop being an idiot. Even if the terrorists do win a moral victory if everyone flees Saudi Arabia, they lose the stragetic end because they can't hold anyone captive in an attempt to get what they want. Honestly, if their whole objective was to kill Americans, they would have killed a lot more by now. That's why their holding hostages, not just killing people as soon as the capture them. Seriously, if every American took off, it would be a great thing.

Here's some more good ones on Saddam Husein:

He has not developed any significant capability with respect to weapons of mass destruction. He is unable to project conventional power against his neighbours.

    - Colin Powell, Feb. 2001

We are able to keep arms from him. His military forces have not been rebuilt.

    - Condoleeza Rice, July 2001

    and for fun:

If our country were defeated, I hope we should find a champion as admirable (as Hitler) to restore our courage and lead us back to our place among the nations.

    - Winston Churchill, in his Great Contemporaries, 1937

So Baghdad isn't a tourist attraction?
What's up in your mind? It's historically one of the most important and interesting places in the world. Let me tell you this as a future archaeologist.

    That is hilarious!

I for one wouldn't have minded touring Baghdad. I'd also love to see Damascus one day. I too have an interest in the ancient ways.

The Bush administration is absolutely ridiculous. They have made the world a far more dangerous place. Remember when you could take a plane from LAX to Baghdad?
